Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Södertälje's Gilbert Fogel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilbert Fogel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Fogel in the 7th minute of play forced Valskog's goalkeeper Sten Eklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gunnar Sundberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arne Alkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pontus Hägglund hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Gunnar Sundberg struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Sten Eklund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Södertälje. Gunnar Sundberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Sten Eklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Södertälje's Gilbert Fogel got a free kick in the 25th minute. Arne Alkvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gilbert Fogel came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Södertälje fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Fogel couldn't finish the play. Gilbert Fogel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Eklund having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

1-0 became the score in the 53rd minute when Sven-Olof Forss elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Sven-Olof Forss got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Gunnar Sundberg notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Valskog's Sten Eklund. Sten Eklund was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Valskog's zone, Gilbert Fogel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sten Eklund came out of the goal and Gilbert Fogel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the game, Södertälje's Gunnar Sundberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sten Eklund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 73rd minute, Gunnar Sundberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sten Eklund. The goal made the score 1-3. 77 minutes into the match, Södertälje's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Olof Forss came free, but Lars-Erik Kjellberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Olof Forss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Södertälje played a much better game than Valskog and deserved their victory. The Valskog players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
