Spectators: 7654 (Terracing: 5742, Seating: 1760, VIP seats: 152) Verner Ödmann started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience was convinced that Verner Ödmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sten Eklund was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. When Henric Åman came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the VS Åby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henric Åman couldn't finish the play. Sten Eklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Verner Ödmann in the 11th minute of play. Rickard Nordström kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Sven-Edvin Askberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sten Eklund. Valskog's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 14th match minute, Valskog was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rickard Nordström to maneuver through the defense. Elliott Sundberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Olof Forss in the 20th minute of the match. Sten Eklund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Verner Ödmann's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rickard Nordström during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of VS Åby booed when Valskog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Nordström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sten Eklund made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Henric Åman sent off a good shot on target. In the 28thth minute of the game Verner Ödmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valskog's Sten Eklund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 minutes of play Valskog's Rickard Nordström was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Valskog getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Rickard Nordström hit a great ball. Elliott Sundberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Alkvist in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Stig-Åke Ström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliott Sundberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Valskog's Gösta Öberg got a free kick in the 34th minute. Arne Alkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliott Sundberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th play minute Gunnar Tøndborg came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sten Eklund. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arne Alkvist made a kick off. When Gunnar Tøndborg came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the VS Åby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnar Tøndborg couldn't finish the play. Sten Eklund didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gunnar Tøndborg went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Verner Ödmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sten Eklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sten Eklund came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by VS Åby's Verner Ödmann. But to his dismay, Verner Ödmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Valskog's Sten Eklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Verner Ödmann in the 61st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Verner Ödmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. VS Åby's supporters rose to their feet, but Verner Ödmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sten Eklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arne Alkvist took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elliott Sundberg. Elliott Sundberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The supporters of VS Åby booed when Valskog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Verner Ödmann in the 73rd minute of play forced Valskog's goalkeeper Sten Eklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the game, Henric Åman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Sten Eklund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 82 played minutes, VS Åby's Ray Lewis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sten Eklund came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VS Åby reached it. The VS Åby fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when VS Åby's Verner Ödmann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. VS Åby's Elliott Sundberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save VS Åby from getting a goal against them. There was no doubt that VS Åby were the better team. VS Åby's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
