Spectators: 7426 (Terracing: 5716, Seating: 1625, VIP seats: 85) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Benne Beer kicked off to start the match. Rickard Lundström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Broman in the 3rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Bertil Tunberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knäred IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertil Tunberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gordon Banks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Knäred IF's Gordon Banks threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benne Beer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 10 minutes into the match, Knäred IF's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Bergqvist came free, but Rickard Lundström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th match minute, Hammarby Sjöstad IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ragnar Söderström to maneuver through the defense. Engelbert Irmisch was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Knäred IF's Engelbert Irmisch got a free kick in the 19th minute. It was beautiful to see Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Jens-Erik Stenkvist in action when he in the 20th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Sonny Bodin kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Bernt Bergqvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rickard Lundström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a little luck, Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Gordon Banks got control of the ball when Benne Beer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Knäred IF's Rickard Lundström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Broman in the 30th minute of play. Ragnar Söderström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gabriel Ambjörnsson's late challenge caught a Hammarby Sjöstad IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Ambjörnsson helped the player get up and apologised. 42 minutes into the game, Timmy Haström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knäred IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby Sjöstad IF the free kick. The supporters of Hammarby Sjöstad IF booed when Knäred IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timmy Haström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernt Bergqvist made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Bernt Bergqvist kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rickard Lundström. That made the score 0-3 in the 54 minute of play. Hammarby Sjöstad IF made a substitution. Marcus Hafström replaced Sonny Forssberg. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Bergqvist in the 65th minute of play forced Knäred IF's goalkeeper Rickard Lundström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordon Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benne Beer in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Benne Beer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bertil Tunberg kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Bernt Bergqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hammarby Sjöstad IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernt Bergqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Knäred IF's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Bergqvist came free, but Rickard Lundström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bernt Bergqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernt Bergqvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Hammarby Sjöstad IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Bengt Bengtsson got a free kick in the 86th minute. Jimmie Lind's late challenge caught a Knäred IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jimmie Lind helped the player get up and apologised. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hammarby Sjöstad IF! A collision led to Hammarby Sjöstad IF getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Marcus Hafström hit a great ball.
