The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute of the match Knäred IF got a corner. Napoleons Fälttåg BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vilhelm Axelsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Knäred IF's corner Vilhelm Axelsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yuri Yasin quite easily take care of the ball. Gabriel Ambjörnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yuri Yasin having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benne Beer got free with Yuri Yasin in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andrea Pirlo's late challenge caught a Knäred IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrea Pirlo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Napoleons Fälttåg BK getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Andrea Pirlo hit a great ball. In the 15th minute Benne Beer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri Yasin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Benne Beer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yuri Yasin. The goal made the score 1-0. After 25 minutes Napoleons Fälttåg BK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vilhelm Axelsson who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Vilhelm Axelsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Napoleons Fälttåg BK's Yuri Yasin did a great save. Rickard Lundström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christos Polizos in the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Napoleons Fälttåg BK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vilhelm Axelsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Knäred IF's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Vilhelm Axelsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Napoleons Fälttåg BK's Yuri Yasin did a great save. After some careless play in the Napoleons Fälttåg BK defense, Benne Beer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yuri Yasin. The Napoleons Fälttåg BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yuri Yasin should have stopped the shot. Napoleons Fälttåg BK's Yuri Yasin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Napoleons Fälttåg BK from getting a goal against them. Knäred IF's Bertil Tunberg got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Benne Beer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knäred IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Benne Beer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yuri Yasin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Napoleons Fälttåg BK's Staffan Palmquist got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If Benne Beer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Bertil Tunberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yuri Yasin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of Knäred IF booed when Napoleons Fälttåg BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olof Hellström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benne Beer might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yuri Yasin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benne Beer ran back to his position shaking his head. Rickard Lundström made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Christos Polizos sent off a good shot on target. Bertil Tunberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yuri Yasin having to interfere. Timmy Haström kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. If Benne Beer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Napoleons Fälttåg BK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
