The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Östers IF. Björn Nyström went to the wrong direction when Håkan Siöberg was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 27th match minute, Grangärde BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Åke Carlberg to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 27 minutes, Folke Hedström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Östers IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Folke Hedström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens-Ove Bengtsson in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rickard Kling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jens-Ove Bengtsson came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Östers IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jens-Ove Bengtsson couldn't finish the play. After 79 minutes of play Östers IF's Folke Hedström was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 80th match minute, Östers IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folke Hedström to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Bertil Larsson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Grangärde BK's Rickard Kling didn't even have to move. After 89 played minutes Grangärde BK got a freekick which was hit by Herman Vikström. The audience was convinced that Jens-Ove Bengtsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rickard Kling was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Östers IF's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
