Elvendale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonas Fridlund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Gilbert Mickelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herbert Friberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Fridlund in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Mickelsson in the 43rd minute of play forced Elvendale's goalkeeper Herbert Friberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Göran Andersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingvar Harlén stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
