After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Jan-Ove Jonasson fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Djurgården's protests and gave Jan-Ove Jonasson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Djurgården getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Jan-Ove Jonasson hit a great ball. Otto Josefsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A throw-in in the 61st minute of the game was made by Erling Sjögren with Ulf Bjursell as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 66th minute, Leif Rolandsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gösta Fågel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leif Rolandsson in the 72nd minute of play forced Djurgården's goalkeeper Gösta Fågel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Leif Rolandsson made a precise shot to the right of Gösta Fågel. Djurgården's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 83 minutes into the match, Djurgården's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Rolandsson came free, but Gösta Fågel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Otto Josefsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Per-Arne Bengtsson hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Many of Djurgården's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Djurgården may have spent more time on the ball, but Obbola were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
