Mikael Bergdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Landin having to interfere. In the 19th minute Jens-Ove Christoffersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Landin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes, Edvard Hellgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hortlax RK and the Real Malmö players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hortlax RK's Leif Stålberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rutger Kock in the 89th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hortlax RK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
