Adrian Ahlbeck came out of the goal and Nils-Åke Mårtensson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute, Boris Pilblad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peter Nilsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dag Hedbom to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Hedemora got a freekick which was hit by Sigvard Hellsing. 58 minutes into the match, Hedemora's goalkeeper Peter Nilsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boris Pilblad. Leif Granqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adrian Ahlbeck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leif Granqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th match minute, Fågelmara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Karlsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th match minute, Fågelmara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dag Hedbom to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Dag Hedbom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Nilsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Fågelmara supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fågelmara would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
