But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludwig Holmgren couldn't finish the play. Rune Löfskog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lukas Bengtsson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktor Ekblom in the 45th minute of play forced Athlétic FC's goalkeeper Lukas Bengtsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rune Löfskog to make the kick off. Tage Grönlund kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Åsele FK's Calle Vennersten got a free kick in the 75th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Rune Löfskog had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lukas Bengtsson. Athlétic FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rune Löfskog was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 84th minute, Ingemar Åkesson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lukas Boklund was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Rune Löfskog took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Lukas Bengtsson to make any attempt to save it. Lukas Boklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trent Jacob in the 92nd minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Åsele FK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
