Torgny Nyqvist's late challenge caught a HQ Rockets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torgny Nyqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th minute Karl-Ove Hafström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Witomir Kolbe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in HQ Rockets's zone, Claudio Collovati stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Måns Björk came out of the goal and Claudio Collovati tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudio Collovati received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Måns Björk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Thomas Rosendahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Witomir Kolbe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Ove Hafström in the 38th minute of the match. Jens-Åke Kellman hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Ove Hafström was the one to do the kick off. The Mellringe Eker IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. If Tommy Alegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mellringe Eker IF's Witomir Kolbe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Mellringe Eker IF from getting a goal against them. Thomas Rosendahl kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Patric Olenberg scored 4-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Witomir Kolbe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Robin Strömberg came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the HQ Rockets fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robin Strömberg couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Karl-Ove Hafström reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Witomir Kolbe. The goal made the score 4-3. After a defensive mix-up in Mellringe Eker IF's zone, Karl-Ove Hafström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Witomir Kolbe came out of the goal and Karl-Ove Hafström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the HQ Rockets players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mellringe Eker IF.
