The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Peter Wik blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sten Östlund having to make a save. Viktor Lindsten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Kellberg in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Ingvar Markusson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Viktor Lindsten was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patric Pålsson during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Hudiksvall getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Patric Pålsson hit a great ball. Torsten Flinck struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Sten Östlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Svinstian FK. Hudiksvall's Stig-Åke Kellberg got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 20 played minutes Svinstian FK got a freekick which was hit by Ted Soned. Viktor Lindsten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Markusson in the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Svinstian FK's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Kellberg came free, but Viktor Lindsten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Hudiksvall's Stig-Åke Kellberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Viktor Lindsten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Svinstian FK's Viktor Lindsten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Markusson in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Patric Pålsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the match, Svinstian FK's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Kellberg came free, but Viktor Lindsten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute Ingvar Markusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Lindsten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viktor Lindsten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Kellberg in the 42nd minute of play. Viktor Lindsten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Kellberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sakarias Pilblad went to the cornerflag to take it. Sakarias Pilblad made a great header on Svinstian FK's corner, it was just that Hudiksvall's Sten Östlund managed to reach the ball for a save. After the first half Hudiksvall were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 55th match minute, Svinstian FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Erik Liljeström to maneuver through the defense. Viktor Lindsten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Markusson in the 56th minute of play. With a little luck, Svinstian FK's Viktor Lindsten got control of the ball when Stig-Åke Kellberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Osvald Westerberg struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Sten Östlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Svinstian FK. Viktor Lindsten made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Stig-Åke Kellberg sent off a good shot on target. 66 minutes into the match, Stig-Åke Kellberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viktor Lindsten. Svinstian FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig-Åke Kellberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Ingvar Markusson took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Viktor Lindsten to make any attempt to save it. Sten Östlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Wik, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Osvald Westerberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Östlund having to interfere. Sten Östlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvald Westerberg in the 79th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Osvald Westerberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Viktor Lindsten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stig-Åke Kellberg in the 84th minute. Viktor Lindsten made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Stig-Åke Kellberg sent off a good shot on target. When Richard Karlsson fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hudiksvall's protests and gave Richard Karlsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Svinstian FK booed when Hudiksvall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Karlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Osvald Westerberg came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Svinstian FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvald Westerberg couldn't finish the play. Sten Östlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Wik in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the Svinstian FK defense, Stig-Åke Kellberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Viktor Lindsten. The Svinstian FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Viktor Lindsten should have stopped the shot. The Hudiksvall supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hudiksvall would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
