But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Erserman couldn't finish the play. Ingvar Sandberg made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Sven-Erik Jonasson sent off a good shot on target.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Klas Wall made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Vargön got a freekick which was hit by Robert Helström. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Georg Erserman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haby BoIS's supporters rose to their feet, but Georg Erserman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joakim Stenkvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Andreasson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the game, one of Haby BoIS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Haby BoIS:s Ingvar Sandberg showed great skill when he stopped Robert Helström:s penalty. Robert Helström kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Sven-Erik Jonasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vargön's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haby BoIS the free kick. In the 81st match minute, Vargön was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Erik Jonasson to maneuver through the defense. Börje Blomkvist charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
