The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Ekhagen's Jim Danielsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Vallander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match, Jim Danielsson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Peter Vallander was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 96th minute Leif Björklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Erik Fredriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
