Eric Jernberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Monroeville Zombies getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Jörgen Mellberg hit a great ball. The Lokomotiv Tranås fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Lokomotiv Tranås's Leif Björklund looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 14th minute, Hjalmar Abrahamsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Leif Björklund sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg didn't even have to move. Viktor Wennersten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olof Källberg kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Eric Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Björklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leif Björklund took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Jernberg. Eric Jernberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 34 minutes into the match, Michel Forsberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Jernberg. Monroeville Zombies's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michel Forsberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Eric Jernberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Björklund in the 38th minute of play. When Konrad Norberg fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monroeville Zombies's protests and gave Konrad Norberg a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lokomotiv Tranås booed when Monroeville Zombies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Konrad Norberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leif Björklund might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eric Jernberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leif Björklund ran back to his position shaking his head. After 45 played minutes Monroeville Zombies got a freekick which was hit by Zebastian Lööf.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zebastian Lööf was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Monroeville Zombies's zone, Leif Björklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Jernberg came out of the goal and Leif Björklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Björklund in the 61st minute of play. Leif Björklund made a great header on Lokomotiv Tranås's corner, it was just that Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg managed to reach the ball for a save. Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Vestberg in the 65th minute of play. Leif Björklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Eric Jernberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zebastian Lööf in the 75th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Tranås's goalkeeper Peter Vallander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Jernberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Käller in the 77th minute of play. Leif Björklund succeeded in the game's 78th minute to get real power on a long shot . Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-5! Monroeville Zombies's Eric Jernberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Monroeville Zombies from getting a goal against them. Eric Jernberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Björklund in the 85th minute of play. Eric Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leif Björklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Monroeville Zombies fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lokomotiv Tranås were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
