NK Podgrmec's Reine Bruhn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save NK Podgrmec from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute, Per-Åke Carlberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NK Podgrmec fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 27 minutes, Emil Björkkvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NK Podgrmec and the Mellerud IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for NK Podgrmec! The goalkeeper, Reine Bruhn, was totally fooled by Mellerud IK's Adrian Sigfridsson, who 28 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Patrik Pilblad kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. NK Podgrmec's Reine Bruhn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timmy Högman in the 34th minute of play. When NK Podgrmec's Karl-Oskar Örn in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Reine Bruhn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dag Öberg in the 76th minute of the match. Karl-Oskar Örn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melker Alströmmer having to interfere. Per-Åke Carlberg's late challenge caught a Mellerud IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Per-Åke Carlberg helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mellerud IK booed when NK Podgrmec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Åke Carlberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute Andreas Bagge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reine Bruhn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th match minute, NK Podgrmec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Säfström to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Oskar Örn in the 94th minute of play forced Mellerud IK's goalkeeper Melker Alströmmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. NK Podgrmec's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
