Jesper Garvetti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mattias Rosendahl's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pål Wallin got free with Jesper Garvetti in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot by Jonatan Jonasson from long distance, 19 minutes into the match, got Jesper Garvetti's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Nils-Erik Ahlroht kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Samuel Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Tinglöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilhelm Ström hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Mattias Rosendahl was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. AIK 1891's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jesper Garvetti made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Pål Eliasson sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the match, NY Rangers's goalkeeper Jesper Garvetti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pål Wallin. A collision led to AIK 1891 getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Douglas Broberg hit a great ball. Ingvar Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennart Vidman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Daniel Ahlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Tinglöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, AIK 1891's Jesper Garvetti threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mattias Rosendahl, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. AIK 1891's Pål Wallin got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Mattias Rosendahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AIK 1891's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattias Rosendahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sebastian Sävström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Ahlin in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ingvar Tinglöf saved AIK 1891 from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Samuel Jansson managed to get in a good position for a shot. NY Rangers's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Jansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ingvar Tinglöf was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Ahlin scored 1-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ingvar Tinglöf, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jesper Garvetti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattias Rosendahl, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Pål Wallin succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-3. In the 79th minute, Mattias Rosendahl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lennart Vidman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ingvar Tinglöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AIK 1891's Håkan Landin was substituted for Ulf Bocklund. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
