In the 14th match minute, Tenhult was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan-Olof Wikander to maneuver through the defense. Vidar Vallman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gottfrid Moberg in the 16th minute. The audience was convinced that Michael Klintæus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joar Fredriksson was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Vidar Vallman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gottfrid Moberg's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Pär Holmgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tenhult's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knäcka nötter the free kick. Pär Holmgren hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
