In the 9th minute Ian Qvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Säf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Vilhelm Forsman notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mariannelund's Johan Säf. Johan Säf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. David Andberg's late challenge caught a Kosta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Andberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Mariannelund got a freekick which was hit by David Andberg. Johan Säf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anders Sigman, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 28 played minutes Mariannelund got a freekick which was hit by Hjalmar Rolandsson. 32 minutes into the match, Mariannelund's goal looked a bit too open when Vilhelm Forsman came free, but Johan Säf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johan Säf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vilhelm Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariannelund's Johan Säf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilhelm Forsman in the 37th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Kosta's Vilhelm Forsman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johan Säf made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Andberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Johan Säf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Qvarnström's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Johan Säf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Qvarnström in the 56th minute of play. Bernt Isaksson charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernt Isaksson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernt Isaksson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The long shot by Hans Malm in the 59th minute really tested Johan Säf's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kosta's zone, Fritz Axelsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ture Söderkvist came out of the goal and Fritz Axelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute Ian Qvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johan Säf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johan Säf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Qvarnström in the 79th minute of the match. Ian Qvarnström struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Johan Säf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kosta. With an all-out effort, Kosta's Johan Säf threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anders Sigman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Mariannelund getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Christopher Vestlund hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Ian Qvarnström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kosta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.
