The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sven Hedström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marc Danielsson in the 3rd minute of the match. Elliot Lindqvist blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven Hedström having to make a save. Sven Hedström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marko Hermansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Fortuna Galaxy's Allan Västlund got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Marc Danielsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fortuna Galaxy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Kingriver FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Danielsson came free, but Sven Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Västlund in the 18th minute of play forced Kingriver FC's goalkeeper Sven Hedström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kingriver FC's goalkeeper Sven Hedström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Fortuna Galaxy getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jan-Olof Sillén hit a great ball. Sven Hedström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Danielsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, Kingriver FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marko Hermansson came free, but Sven Hedström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Lundhberg took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven Hedström. Sven Hedström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andy Björklund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gottfrid Ekström might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georg Nyström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gottfrid Ekström ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 58th minute, Marko Hermansson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sven Hedström. The goal made the score 0-3. Gottfrid Ekström's late challenge caught a Fortuna Galaxy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gottfrid Ekström helped the player get up and apologised. Gottfrid Ekström hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 79th match minute, Fortuna Galaxy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Vacker to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Kingriver FC's zone, Elliot Lindqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven Hedström came out of the goal and Elliot Lindqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the game, Allan Västlund recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sven Hedström. Allan Västlund showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Axel Olenberg during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Kingriver FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Karl-Axel Olenberg hit a great ball. Fortuna Galaxy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
