A collision led to Ljusterö getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Emil Strömberg hit a great ball. Bengt-Rune Åhman took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patric Fransson. Patric Fransson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Patric Blomquist fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ljusterö's protests and gave Patric Blomquist a yellow card for diving instead. Ljusterö's Patric Fransson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Håkansson in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Ljusterö booed when Göteborgs Äldre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Rune Åhman didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Rune Åhman in the 17th minute of play forced Ljusterö's goalkeeper Patric Fransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes Göteborgs Äldre got a freekick which was hit by Evert Nordlund. Patric Fransson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bengt-Rune Åhman in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute Bengt-Rune Åhman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patric Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joar Waller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bengt-Rune Åhman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patric Fransson was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After 36 minutes, Carl Björnberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Göteborgs Äldre and the Ljusterö players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Carl Björnberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ljusterö's Patric Fransson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ljusterö from getting a goal against them. Patric Fransson came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Göteborgs Äldre's Bengt-Rune Åhman. But to his dismay, Bengt-Rune Åhman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Patric Fransson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Björnberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

55 minutes into the match, Ljusterö's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Rune Åhman came free, but Patric Fransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joar Waller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ingvar Albom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bengt-Rune Åhman hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Urban Håkansson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ingvar Albom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Börge Blom in the 64th minute. In the 82nd minute Bengt-Rune Åhman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patric Fransson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ljusterö's zone, Åke Håkansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patric Fransson came out of the goal and Åke Håkansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patric Fransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt-Rune Åhman in the 93rd minute of the match. Patric Fransson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Rune Åhman in the 95th minute of play. Göteborgs Äldre's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
