The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Sten Byström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerry Nordmark was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Sten Byström charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sten Byström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Åsunden getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Sten Byström hit a great ball. After 13 minutes of play, Åsunden's Sten Byström made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerry Nordmark was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th minute, Sten Byström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Åsunden fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 20th match minute, Åsunden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens-Ola Fransson to maneuver through the defense. Sten Byström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Nordmark read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Sten Byström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sten Byström came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Åsunden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sten Byström couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, HEPATIT C IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Martinsson came free, but Jerry Nordmark reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hubert Stålman hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. HEPATIT C IF's Jerry Nordmark played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sten Byström in the 42nd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, HEPATIT C IF's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Byström came free, but Jerry Nordmark reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerry Nordmark took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hubert Stålman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sten Byström to strike the kick off in the second half. When Sven-Olof Lundström was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. A collision led to HEPATIT C IF getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Sven-Olof Lundström hit a great ball. Sten Byström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jerry Nordmark made a huge save. Hubert Anundsson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, HEPATIT C IF's goalkeeper Jerry Nordmark had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sten Byström. HEPATIT C IF's Jerry Nordmark proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save HEPATIT C IF from getting a goal against them. When Sten Byström came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Åsunden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sten Byström couldn't finish the play. Sten Byström took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jerry Nordmark. Jerry Nordmark dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Åsunden's Sten Byström got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sten Byström struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Jerry Nordmark didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Åsunden. Hubert Stålman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sten Byström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Nordmark having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, HEPATIT C IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Martinsson came free, but Jerry Nordmark reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sten Byström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerry Nordmark read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute Ralf Martinsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Nordmark saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sten Byström came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Åsunden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sten Byström couldn't finish the play. Ralf Martinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerry Nordmark having to interfere. Hubert Stålman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Sten Byström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ralf Martinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jerry Nordmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Åsunden could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than HEPATIT C IF throughout the match.
