Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ralf Walmarsson kicked off to start the match. Karl-Axel Skytt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Walmarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute of the game Tage Strand made a throw-in which Samuel Arvidsson played forward. The IFK Göteborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Svante Bollström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karl-Axel Skytt. Elden Ringers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Svante Bollström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Elden Ringers's Karl-Axel Skytt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Sjöman in the 34th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Elden Ringers's goal looked a bit too open when Ralf Walmarsson came free, but Karl-Axel Skytt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half IFK Göteborg were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nils-Emil Eliasson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to IFK Göteborg getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gert Petersson hit a great ball. After having played for 53 minutes, William Öberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elden Ringers's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Öberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Svante Bollström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Karl-Axel Skytt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 58th match minute, Elden Ringers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Arvidsson to maneuver through the defense. If Claes Fransson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elden Ringers's Karl-Axel Skytt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Elden Ringers from getting a goal against them. 64 minutes into the match, Claes Fransson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karl-Axel Skytt. Elden Ringers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claes Fransson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When Ralf Walmarsson came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the IFK Göteborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ralf Walmarsson couldn't finish the play. Karl-Axel Skytt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Walmarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. If Ralf Walmarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Holger Kalfhage might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Östen Björkqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Holger Kalfhage ran back to his position shaking his head. Bertil Telin kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. IFK Göteborg played a much better game than Elden Ringers and deserved their victory. The Elden Ringers players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
