Mattias Eliasson's late challenge caught a Royal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mattias Eliasson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bottnaryd IFK's Mattias Eliasson got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stig Skålberg made a kick off. Åke Vinström was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Martin Klementsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Säv was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Michael Bergkvist showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 80 minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Martin Klementsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 84th minute, which Ian Säv however easily saved by the left post. Åke Vinström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig Skålberg in the 86th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Egil Hermansson notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Royal FC's Åke Vinström. Åke Vinström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bottnaryd IFK had won after a very even match.
