Borussia Herrhagen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Forsmo Bombers FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Borussia Herrhagen's Claes Nyqvist got a free kick in the 5th minute. When Åke Granberg fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Herrhagen's protests and gave Åke Granberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Borussia Herrhagen getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Åke Granberg hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes Forsmo Bombers FC got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Åke Fredriksson. Lucas Klint received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ragnar Olsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ragnar Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Granberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven-Arne Brodin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Björkman, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. If Adam Björkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Åke Granberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Åke Granberg came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Borussia Herrhagen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Åke Granberg couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute, Forsmo Bombers FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lucas Klint fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ragnar Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Åke Granberg in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Åke Granberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borussia Herrhagen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Åke Granberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan-Åke Fredriksson to strike the kick off in the second half. Ragnar Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Åke Granberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Sven-Arne Brodin made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Adam Björkman sent off a good shot on target. Forsmo Bombers FC's Ragnar Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Granberg in the 59th minute of play. Sven-Arne Brodin was a little too slow when Jan-Åke Fredriksson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-1. If Lucas Klint had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Åke Granberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Åke Granberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ragnar Olsson was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Forsmo Bombers FC's goalkeeper Ragnar Olsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ragnar Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Granberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th match minute, Forsmo Bombers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Nyberg to maneuver through the defense. Sven-Arne Brodin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Åke Fredriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 91st minute, Jan-Åke Fredriksson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sven-Arne Brodin. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 97th minute Joel Nyberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Arne Brodin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Forsmo Bombers FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Forsmo Bombers FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
