The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sven-Arne Björklund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes into the game, Jonsereds IF's Greger Alströmmer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frans Fransson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Per-Olof Sandström's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Sven-Arne Björklund skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Frans Fransson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sven-Arne Björklund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Per-Olof Sandström's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Per-Olof Sandström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Snake's supporters crossed their fingers, but Per-Olof Sandström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, FC Snake's Sven-Arne Björklund threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Per-Olof Sandström, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After the first half Jonsereds IF were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Allan Lundin to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Per-Olof Rydelius during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
