Frans Fransson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erling Öman, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Erling Öman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Tinglöf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Martinsson in the 21st minute of play. Olov Backlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Robert Tinglöf made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, Hammarby's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Olof Sandström came free, but Robert Tinglöf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Uno Linquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Per-Olof Sandström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute, Ivan Kashukeev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erling Öman was the one to do the kick off. Erling Öman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Frans Fransson made a huge save. With a little luck, FC Snake's Frans Fransson got control of the ball when Erling Öman tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Hammarby getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Sune Nyman hit a great ball. Robert Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Martinsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olov Backlund's late challenge caught a Hammarby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olov Backlund helped the player get up and apologised. After 70 played minutes FC Snake got a freekick which was hit by Olov Backlund. After 72 played minutes FC Snake got a freekick which was hit by Harry Martinsson. If Stellan Löv had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erik Löfdahl was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 82 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the game, one of FC Snake:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Robert Tinglöf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Olof Sandström in the 87th minute of the match. Per-Olof Sandström kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Hammarby's Robert Tinglöf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Olof Sandström in the 92nd minute of play. After 92 minutes, Ivan Kashukeev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hammarby and the FC Snake players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Hammarby got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Kashukeev. In the 97th minute Per-Olof Sandström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Tinglöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 99 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hammarby's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Harry Martinsson was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Snake's players had a chance to rest. Chants of Hammarby echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as FC Snake had held the ball for most of the match.
