Spectators: 7716 (Terracing: 5791, Seating: 1775, VIP seats: 150) Åre IK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Gösta Finnman scored to the left of an out of position Verner Tomasson, making the score, 1-0. Gösta Finnman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Verner Tomasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thor Danielsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Ljungsbro's goal looked a bit too open when Wiktor Boklund came free, but Pelle Hedkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Verner Tomasson made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Sigvard Wennerlund sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Åre IK's zone, Lars-Erik Hellström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verner Tomasson came out of the goal and Lars-Erik Hellström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Ljungsbro fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Ljungsbro's Lars-Erik Hellström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 37th minute, Niclas Viklund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Verner Tomasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars-Erik Hellström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alvar Drake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Håkan Kiempe made a kick off. Åre IK's Verner Tomasson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars-Erik Hellström in the 52nd minute of play. Gösta Finnman hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the game, Gösta Finnman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Verner Tomasson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 60 minutes into the game, Ljungsbro's Gösta Finnman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Verner Tomasson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Gösta Finnman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Verner Tomasson having to make a save. Gösta Finnman struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Verner Tomasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ljungsbro. After a defensive mix-up in Åre IK's zone, Lars-Erik Hellström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verner Tomasson came out of the goal and Lars-Erik Hellström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lars-Erik Hellström took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Verner Tomasson. Verner Tomasson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. If Timmy Mikaelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lars-Erik Hellström in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Verner Tomasson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th minute, Gösta Finnman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ljungsbro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Alvar Drake recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lars-Erik Hellström struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Verner Tomasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ljungsbro. 83 minutes into the match, Thor Danielsson notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Åre IK's Verner Tomasson. Verner Tomasson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Åre IK's zone, Alvar Drake stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verner Tomasson came out of the goal and Alvar Drake tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Thor Danielsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Lars-Erik Hellström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Verner Tomasson was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. 96 minutes into the game, Ljungsbro's Thor Danielsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Verner Tomasson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. Ljungsbro's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
