Steve Ball's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivar Mårtensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Sven-Ove Ivarsson in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Oskar Widberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Oskar Widberg managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Höjden BK's Sven-Ove Ivarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Höjden BK's Ivar Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steve Ball in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven-Ove Ivarsson was the one to do the kick off. Leif Sjöberg kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Oskar Widberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Ove Ivarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. With a left leg Oskar Widberg saved Fyrkanten FF from getting behind. 67 minutes into the game, Kurt Siggman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Oskar Widberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sven-Ove Ivarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Steve Ball came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Fyrkanten FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Ball couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Höjden BK's goalkeeper Ivar Mårtensson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Steve Ball had several of the Höjden BK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 77 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Ivar Mårtensson as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to Höjden BK getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Fred Sandberg hit a great ball. Oskar Widberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Siggman in the 85th minute of play. If Steve Ball had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ivar Mårtensson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steve Ball's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Steve Ball who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Ivar Mårtensson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 94 minutes, Steve Ball managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fyrkanten FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Ball was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
