Royal Excel Mouscron's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Axel Bergstedt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 28 minutes into the match, Royal Excel Mouscron's goal looked a bit too open when Ferruccio Stella came free, but Edgar Poe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Frank Kunze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iman Younghusband saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Poe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Hug, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Skene FK's Iman Younghusband played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erland Skager in the 32nd minute of play. Ferruccio Stella could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Edgar Poe made a huge save. With 38 minutes on the clock, Rolf Strömberg commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 37th minute, one of Skene FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Skene FK. The referee gave Royal Excel Mouscron a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. A nice corner shot did that Karl-Axel Bergstedt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edgar Poe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Münir Akdemir made the kick off in the second half. Iman Younghusband made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Frank Kunze sent off a good shot on target. Lenílson Antunes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Iman Younghusband came out and tried to block the shot, but Lenílson Antunes slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pär Wallmark in the 56th minute of play forced Skene FK's goalkeeper Iman Younghusband to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Skene FK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Royal Excel Mouscron:s goal. Skene FK:s Iman Younghusband showed great skill when he stopped Melker Lundblad:s penalty. Edgar Poe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Münir Akdemir, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Münir Akdemir kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Frank Kunze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Iman Younghusband made a huge save. Iman Younghusband took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pär Wallmark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the game, Royal Excel Mouscron's Lenílson Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iman Younghusband made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-4. Dennis Hermansson hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Karl-Axel Bergstedt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edgar Poe. Royal Excel Mouscron's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bence Shamurin hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute of the match Karl-Axel Bergstedt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgar Poe skillfully saved the ball. Skene FK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
