After 5 minutes, Michael Julin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zinken IF and the IFK Bergen players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Zinken IF's zone, Emil Lundin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Åke Hake came out of the goal and Emil Lundin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Axel Ståhlberg made a great header on IFK Bergen's corner, it was just that Zinken IF's Karl-Åke Hake managed to reach the ball for a save. Karl-Åke Hake made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Magnus Godholm in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Julin in the 15th minute of play forced IFK Bergen's goalkeeper Ludwig Apelqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludwig Apelqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Julin in the 17th minute of play. IFK Bergen's Ludwig Apelqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folke Harman in the 19th minute of play. When Michael Julin came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Zinken IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Julin couldn't finish the play. Zinken IF's Henri-Xavier Lascaux quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sven-Arne Eriksson, made in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 25thth minute of the game Michael Julin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but IFK Bergen's Ludwig Apelqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute, Michael Julin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ludwig Apelqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ludwig Apelqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folke Harman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl-Åke Hake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Magnus Godholm in the 43rd minute of the match. Emil Lundin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Karl-Åke Hake made a huge save. In the 48th minute Karl-Magnus Godholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Hake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

55 minutes into the match, IFK Bergen's Martin Wästerberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Åke Hake narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Julin in the 60th minute of play forced IFK Bergen's goalkeeper Ludwig Apelqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, IFK Bergen's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Julin came free, but Ludwig Apelqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A throw-in in the 66th minute of the game was made by Henri-Xavier Lascaux with Rune Bock as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Karl-Åke Hake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Magnus Godholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Karl-Åke Hake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Magnus Godholm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl-Åke Hake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emil Lundin's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Karl-Magnus Godholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Karl-Åke Hake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When IFK Bergen's Emil Lundin in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zinken IF's goalie prevented a goal. In the 83rd minute Emil Lundin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Hake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Wästerberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl-Åke Hake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Magnus Godholm in the 87th minute of the match. Martin Wästerberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute John Pihlgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Hake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers John Pihlgren in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Åke Hake saved Zinken IF from getting behind. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
