In the 18th minute Tobias Isaksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valeriu Antohi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Göran Ahlroht took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Rosendahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Gunnarskog IFK's Robert Boström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Göran Ahlroht narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute Slussfors IK were awarded a corner. Aron Fastesson went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Slussfors IK's corner Aron Fastesson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Valeriu Antohi quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Isaksson in the 35th minute of play forced Gunnarskog IFK's goalkeeper Valeriu Antohi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Gunnarskog IFK's goalkeeper Valeriu Antohi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tom Wallander. Valeriu Antohi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Gunnarskog IFK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Torsten Rosendahl made a kick off. Göran Ahlroht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Boström in the 51st minute of play. Robert Boström might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Göran Ahlroht. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Boström ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Gunnarskog IFK getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Dan Holm hit a great ball. Tobias Isaksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Lennart Holmgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gunnarskog IFK's Sebastian Josefsson got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valeriu Antohi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Wallander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Torsten Rosendahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
