An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Hellström in the 7th minute of play forced Laxå IK's goalkeeper Eric Grep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Finspång FF booed when Laxå IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredrik Winström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Browald didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julio Dobbins went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With an all-out effort, Laxå IK's Erik Browald threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Valentin Blom, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Måns Löfgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Erik Browald made a huge save. In the 18th minute, Erik Albäck fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 20th minute Frank Hellström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Grep saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laxå IK's Erik Albäck got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Finspång FF's Erik Browald got control of the ball when Erik Albäck tried to sneak it across the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Måns Löfgren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Erik Browald was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Finspång FF defense, Erik Albäck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erik Browald. The Finspång FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erik Browald should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Albäck got free with Erik Browald in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute, Erik Albäck reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Erik Browald. The goal made the score 5-0. Erik Browald came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Laxå IK's Valentin Blom. But to his dismay, Valentin Blom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Hellström made a kick off. When Finspång FF's Torbjörn Vestlund in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laxå IK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 56th minute, Valentin Blom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laxå IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. If Erik Albäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Browald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Albäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Hellström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Eric Grep tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Måns Löfgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Torbjörn Vestlund fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Finspång FF's protests and gave Torbjörn Vestlund a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes Finspång FF got a freekick which was hit by Torbjörn Vestlund. Lennart Vacker hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Fredrik Winström struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Erik Browald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laxå IK. Erik Browald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Albäck in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Erik Albäck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Valentin Blom made a precise shot to the right of Erik Browald. Finspång FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. In the 86th minute, Valentin Blom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Browald was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Laxå IK's Eric Grep played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torbjörn Vestlund in the 92nd minute of play. If Frank Hellström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Xavi Joinvilense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laxå IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Finspång FF the free kick. 94 minutes into the game, one of Laxå IK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 95 minutes into the game, Finspång FF's Stig Ekeroth nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Grep made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-1.
