Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfons Jansson started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Jansson in the 5th minute of play forced Finspång FF's goalkeeper Erik Browald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute Alfons Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Browald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Grangärde booed when Finspång FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Myhr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gösta Kaxe might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Browald. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gösta Kaxe ran back to his position shaking his head. If Alfons Jansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes of play, Finspång FF's Frank Hellström made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Torsten Henning was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gösta Kaxe might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik Browald. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gösta Kaxe ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Gösta Kaxe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grangärde's supporters rose to their feet, but Gösta Kaxe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Browald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Torbjörn Vestlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gösta Kaxe was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 33rd minute Alfons Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Browald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Frank Hellström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Torsten Henning was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 37thth minute of the game Frank Hellström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grangärde's Torsten Henning was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute, Torbjörn Vestlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Frank Hellström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torsten Henning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Grangärde got a freekick which was hit by Josef Henriksson.

The wind increased when Frank Hellström made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Alfons Jansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grangärde fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 58 minutes into the game, Frank Hellström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Torsten Henning. Frank Hellström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 62nd match minute, Grangärde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarl Danielsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd match minute, Grangärde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikael Alströmer to maneuver through the defense. After 71 played minutes Grangärde got a freekick which was hit by Bertil Hermansson. Torbjörn Vestlund might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torsten Henning. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torbjörn Vestlund ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Grangärde's Bertil Hermansson got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 87th minute Gösta Kaxe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Browald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Grangärde's Gösta Kaxe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik Browald made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4.
