Jack Lidström was slow to take the kick. During this time RB Göteborg's players had a chance to rest. Thomas Håkansson was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 8th minute Anthon Söderström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Åhman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hortlax FC's Filip Åhman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakob Aibert in the 10th minute of play. Filip Åhman made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Jack Lidström sent off a good shot on target. In the 12thth minute of the game Anthon Söderström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hortlax FC's Filip Åhman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 14 minutes into the game, Inge Wahlström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Algot Bollström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Algot Bollström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hampus Bocklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filip Åhman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthon Söderström in the 19th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, RB Göteborg's Jakob Aibert got a free kick in the 20th minute. Filip Åhman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthon Söderström's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Filip Åhman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anthon Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. But to his dismay, Carmine Domenghini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 44 minutes into the match, RB Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Hampus Bocklund came free, but Algot Bollström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

RB Göteborg's Sven-Erik Bergström was substituted for Thomas Håkansson. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inge Wahlström to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, RB Göteborg's Sven-Arne Stenkvist got a free kick in the 60th minute. Inge Wahlström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Algot Bollström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Lindström received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Algot Bollström came out and tried to block the shot, but Roger Lindström slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 86th minute. Hortlax FC's Filip Åhman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthon Söderström in the 90th minute of play. Algot Bollström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Lindström in the 92nd minute of play. The Hortlax FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hortlax FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
