Ezra Swenson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Brandt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Gratien Étoile had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ingemar Klint. FC Hamodi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gratien Étoile was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 47 minutes into the match, PHammar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Brandt came free, but Ezra Swenson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Brandt in the 47th minute of play forced PHammar FC's goalkeeper Ezra Swenson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jens-Ola Bergström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Åke Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Hamodi's Folke Koch was substituted for Jens-Ola Bergström. Ronny Ek's late challenge caught a FC Hamodi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronny Ek helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to PHammar FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ronny Ek hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, PHammar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Folke Koch came free, but Ezra Swenson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Åke Åberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. PHammar FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Åke Åberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ingemar Klint breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes into the match, FC Hamodi's Folke Koch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ezra Swenson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of PHammar FC booed when FC Hamodi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Ambjörnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
