The supporters of Vetevendosje FC booed when Deje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Isaksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deje's Jim Wallin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Smolarek in the 35th minute of play. Tobias Forssberg kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henric Svanström in the 44th minute of play forced Vetevendosje FC's goalkeeper Eşref Tuney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Deje players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vetevendosje FC were winning 0-1.

Jim Wallin made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Jan Smolarek sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd minute Vetevendosje FC were awarded a corner. Karl Finnman went to the cornerflag to take it. When Rafal Cichewski came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Vetevendosje FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafal Cichewski couldn't finish the play. The Vetevendosje FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vetevendosje FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
