AFC Richmond's Roger Ånger got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Sebastian Goicoechea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Niklas Kvick was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jan Malmberg charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Malmberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Jan Malmberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 minutes of play, AFC Richmond's Gilbert Högström made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Niklas Kvick was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 18th minute of the match Svante Kock shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evert Lägdin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gilbert Högström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Ziemowit Wawak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evert Lägdin. AFC Richmond's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ziemowit Wawak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Roger Ånger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Niklas Kvick made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Dan Larsson took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Niklas Kvick to make any attempt to save it. In the 33rd minute, Roger Ånger made a precise shot to the right of Niklas Kvick. Helsingborg IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Jonatan Eladio was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th match minute, Helsingborg IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonatan Eladio to maneuver through the defense. Niklas Kvick was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Roland Ivarsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Ånger in the 41st minute of play forced Helsingborg IF's goalkeeper Niklas Kvick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaudencio Ignazio made a kick off. Bengt-Arne Tönnberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Lägdin having to interfere. Niklas Kvick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilbert Högström went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. After 59 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Dan Larsson. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Richmond's zone, Ziemowit Wawak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evert Lägdin came out of the goal and Ziemowit Wawak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evert Lägdin was a little too slow when Ziemowit Wawak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 5-2. Niklas Kvick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Ånger, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After some careless play in the Helsingborg IF defense, Roger Ånger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niklas Kvick. The Helsingborg IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niklas Kvick should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Helsingborg IF's Jens Sandell got a free kick in the 78th minute. Gilbert Högström scored 7-2 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niklas Kvick, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With 83 minutes on the clock, Adam Golob commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in AFC Richmond fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AFC Richmond had played much better football throughout.
