The Ljungdalen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven Pihlwall should have stopped the shot. In the 11th minute, Joakim Alegren reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Claes Magnusson. The goal made the score 1-1. Ljungdalen's Sven Pihlwall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernst Vercammen in the 13th minute of play. Sven Pihlwall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Söderqvist in the 18th minute of the match. West ham united's Claes Magnusson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joakim Alegren in the 19th minute of play. Claes Magnusson made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Joakim Alegren sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd match minute, West ham united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Käller to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, West ham united's Claes Magnusson got control of the ball when Alf Pettersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albin Käller got free with Sven Pihlwall in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ljungdalen's Malte Månsson got a free kick in the 58th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Ljungdalen's goalkeeper Sven Pihlwall had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arne Söderqvist. Claes Magnusson came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Ljungdalen's Joakim Alegren. But to his dismay, Joakim Alegren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After a rather tough play, Ljungdalen's Billy Odén got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the match, Arne Söderqvist notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Ljungdalen's Sven Pihlwall. Sven Pihlwall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ljungdalen's Sven Pihlwall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Ljungdalen from getting a goal against them. After 68 minutes, Andreas Käller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ljungdalen and the West ham united players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Ljungdalen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Käller to maneuver through the defense. Alf Pettersson took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claes Magnusson. Claes Magnusson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5. When the match was over West ham united could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ljungdalen throughout the match.
