The audience thought a goal was coming when Per Petersson got free with Sven Pihlwall in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kim Möllgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Eriksson in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Ljungdalen were awarded a corner. Malte Månsson went to the cornerflag to take it. Malte Månsson's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Kim Möllgren - 0-1 was put on the score board in the 13th minute. Stig Nyman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Kim Möllgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Ljungdalen's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Power came free, but Sven Pihlwall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Ljungdalen got a corner. SC Dynamo Berlin 1966's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tales Machado to make the kick off. Agne Bergfeldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sven Pihlwall read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play.
