Sumpan FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Sumpan FC's Bengt-Rune Dahlman quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With his leg Agne Målare managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Brickebacken if's Jonas Hautot fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kutalp Arkın, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kurt Bergendahl fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sumpan FC's protests and gave Kurt Bergendahl a yellow card for diving instead. Kurt Bergendahl hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes Sumpan FC got a freekick which was hit by Sverker Vacker. Agne Målare made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Hautot in the 38th minute. Jonas Hautot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Brickebacken if's Maciej Barycz got a free kick in the 45th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Kurt Bergendahl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sumpan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kurt Bergendahl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Hellström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonas Hautot was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Brickebacken if booed when Sumpan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helge Thedin didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Sumpan FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Kurt Bergendahl hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sumpan FC's Kutalp Arkın got a free kick in the 85th minute. Tommy Nyberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Agne Målare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nils-Erik Bergvall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agne Målare having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Brickebacken if was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gwidon Ranowiecki to maneuver through the defense. Sverker Vacker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronnie Hellström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Brickebacken if's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
