The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacek Turok got free with Evald Juráček in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 24 minutes of play, Besiktas's Celso Sauveur made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The referee ignored Bjärred FK's protests and gave Attilio Brini a yellow card for diving instead. Erland Kruuse's late challenge caught a Besiktas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erland Kruuse helped the player get up and apologised. Evald Juráček had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Cecilio Cresencio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Bjärred FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Celso Sauveur scored to the left of an out of position Evald Juráček, making the score, 3-0. After a rather tough play, Besiktas's Jacek Turok got a free kick in the 36th minute. Jan-Erik Sandwall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attilio Brini in the 38th minute of the match. Celso Sauveur who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Evald Juráček when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Besiktas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ulises Chap sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
