Köttrötterna's Tage Lidberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Vallin in the 3rd minute of play. Alex Vallin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tage Lidberg having to interfere. Tage Lidberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börje Frisk in the 7th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Börje Frisk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tage Lidberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Vallin in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, MAFFIAN's Alex Vallin got a free kick in the 18th minute. Tage Lidberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ragnar Törnkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tage Lidberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Törnkvist in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Ragnar Törnkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tage Lidberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Köttrötterna's Tage Lidberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ragnar Törnkvist in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute there was a penalty for MAFFIAN. Östen Vennersten stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tage Lidberg. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torbjörn Hermansson in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aron Dahlbom saved MAFFIAN from getting behind. When Kristoffer Nyberg fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAFFIAN's protests and gave Kristoffer Nyberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MAFFIAN getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Kristoffer Nyberg hit a great ball. Dan Landin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Aron Dahlbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Alex Vallin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tage Lidberg. Köttrötterna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Vallin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 40 played minutes Köttrötterna got a freekick which was hit by Jim Odeen. In the 47th match minute, MAFFIAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greger Broberg to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ragnar Törnkvist to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Alex Vallin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tage Lidberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Svensson's late challenge caught a Köttrötterna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. George Svensson helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by George Svensson. Dan Landin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aron Dahlbom. MAFFIAN's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per Lundström in the 73rd minute of play forced MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Aron Dahlbom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Köttrötterna booed when MAFFIAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Frisk didn't get a good kick on the ball.
