A collision led to Bangkok FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Kenneth Strömberg hit a great ball. The supporters of Croatia booed when Bangkok FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrik Ambjörnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adil Özerk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benne Benne in the 10th minute of the match. Bangkok FC's Adil Özerk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 林晨洋 in the 11th minute of play. Henrik Ambjörnsson's late challenge caught a Croatia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henrik Ambjörnsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Bangkok FC got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Ambjörnsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benne Benne in the 20th minute of play forced Bangkok FC's goalkeeper Adil Özerk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gutierrez Hazanovich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 林晨洋 might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adil Özerk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. 林晨洋 ran back to his position shaking his head. Stellan Drake made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Arne Påk sent off a good shot on target. 43 minutes into the match, Bangkok FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benne Benne came free, but Adil Özerk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arne Påk to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Påk came free, but Stellan Drake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stellan Drake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Benne Benne made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 60thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Adil Özerk would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 64 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gomes came free, but Stellan Drake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Bangkok FC's goal looked a bit too open when 林晨洋 came free, but Adil Özerk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Croatia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gutierrez Hazanovich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Benne Benne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the game, Rafael Gomes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Stellan Drake was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Kjell Lindholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90 minutes of play, Croatia's Gutierrez Hazanovich made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adil Özerk was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Bangkok FC's zone, Gutierrez Hazanovich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adil Özerk came out of the goal and Gutierrez Hazanovich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bangkok FC's goalkeeper Adil Özerk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Bangkok FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Croatia for much of the match.
