Ove Dalström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Fågel, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Vänersborg SC's goalkeeper Stewart Tongs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Rydelius. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasper Tillman in the 18th minute of play forced Vänersborg SC's goalkeeper Stewart Tongs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Kasper Tillman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stewart Tongs. Kasper Tillman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Vänersborg SC's Stewart Tongs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasper Tillman in the 21st minute of play. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Robert Rydelius sped through Vänersborg SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stewart Tongs. Marko Lenberg hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Rune Fågel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ove Dalström having to make a save. The supporters of Vänersborg SC booed when Grabbarna BOIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonny Kjellman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Rune Fågel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. After 80 played minutes Vänersborg SC got a freekick which was hit by Harry Gunnarsson. Stewart Tongs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christopher Nyberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 81 minutes into the match, Vänersborg SC's goal looked a bit too open when Christopher Nyberg came free, but Stewart Tongs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
