But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Örjan Magnusson couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute Robert Rydelius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stewart Tongs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Robert Rydelius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute Tord Alberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ove Dalström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Canor Sans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vänersborg SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Canor Sans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stewart Tongs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Rydelius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stewart Tongs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasper Tillman in the 37th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Tord Alberg took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ove Dalström to make any attempt to save it. In the 44th minute, Robert Rydelius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Robert Rydelius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stewart Tongs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Örjan Magnusson hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Tord Alberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ove Dalström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Vänersborg SC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jörgen Gadd hit a great ball. Ove Dalström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tord Alberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christopher Nyberg's late challenge caught a Vänersborg SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christopher Nyberg helped the player get up and apologised. Christopher Nyberg kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Grabbarna BOIS's Ove Dalström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Alberg in the 70th minute of play. If Bobbo Viking had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Grabbarna BOIS's Robert Rydelius dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Canor Sans in the 81st minute of play forced Grabbarna BOIS's goalkeeper Ove Dalström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ove Dalström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Örjan Magnusson in the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Örjan Magnusson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ove Dalström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Grabbarna BOIS's Robert Rydelius got a free kick in the 88th minute. Stewart Tongs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torgny Hök in the 93rd minute of play. If Canor Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute Canor Sans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ove Dalström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
