When Kurt Bure came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Benknotorna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kurt Bure couldn't finish the play. Geraldo Trullols received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Trullols in the 16th minute of play forced IFK Vårsta's goalkeeper Balamir Yürükoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Balamir Yürükoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geraldo Trullols, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Peter Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Granberg in the 21st minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of IFK Vårsta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Benknotorna:s goal. In the 26th minute Geraldo Trullols suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 26 minutes, Karl-Johan Helander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the IFK Vårsta and the Benknotorna players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th match minute, IFK Vårsta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Johan Helander to maneuver through the defense. Balamir Yürükoğlu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Ove Pettersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, IFK Vårsta's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Bure came free, but Balamir Yürükoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the IFK Vårsta defense, Kenneth Majman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Balamir Yürükoğlu. The IFK Vårsta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Balamir Yürükoğlu should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

If Kenneth Majman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61stth minute of the game Stefan Granberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benknotorna's Peter Lundgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Balamir Yürükoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Bure, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. IFK Vårsta's Balamir Yürükoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Bure in the 65th minute of play. Peter Lundgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Granberg's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Ove Pettersson kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Patrik Matsson in the 73rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by IFK Vårsta's Håkan Ahlstedt. Balamir Yürükoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustav Siöberg in the 77th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Kenneth Majman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Balamir Yürükoğlu, 0-4.
