Stampen IF's Kasım Yay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Gunnarsson in the 23rd minute of play. Leopold Van Gestelt struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Kasım Yay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Södra Mellby IF. Sven Wickander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Gulliksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Stampen IF's zone, Eric Holmberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kasım Yay came out of the goal and Eric Holmberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven Wickander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Gulliksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 48 minutes into the match, Södra Mellby IF's goalkeeper Sven Wickander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stig Lundberg. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eric Holmberg to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Södra Mellby IF booed when Stampen IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olov Gulliksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Gulliksson in the 55th minute of play forced Södra Mellby IF's goalkeeper Sven Wickander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Holmberg hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Stampen IF got a freekick which was hit by Arvin Hedström. Stampen IF's Kasım Yay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Gunnarsson in the 79th minute of play. Södra Mellby IF were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Stampen IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tim Berg took the corner. After taking down the ball on Södra Mellby IF's corner Tim Berg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kasım Yay quite easily take care of the ball. Harry Gunnarsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Kasım Yay when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sven Wickander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olov Gulliksson in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Stig Lundberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute Pär Ståhlman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Wickander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Södra Mellby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Gulliksson came free, but Sven Wickander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
