When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Nils-Emil Nässén put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Vidar Salqvist. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enio Silva got free with Vidar Salqvist in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. GV 1980 Hedslund's Jan Gomola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivar Malmström in the 46th minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Ivar Malmström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GV 1980 Hedslund's Jan Gomola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Månstad IK made a substitution. Edmund Stensson replaced Ivar Malmström. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmund Stensson was the one to do the kick off. When Elof Biörkquist fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. If Elliot Månsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of GV 1980 Hedslund booed when Månstad IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Drake didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rune Nordström, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. GV 1980 Hedslund walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
