The supporters of Italiano booed when Galapagos Islands FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rešo Orte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Radomil Mroczynski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Shilton having to interfere. Galapagos Islands FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sigvart Biegel in the 17th minute. Anthon Karlsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph Låsberg in the 18th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radomil Mroczynski in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Shilton saved Italiano from getting behind. Peter Shilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomil Mroczynski in the 22nd minute of the match. When Galapagos Islands FC's Özgün Hatip in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After taking down the ball on Italiano's corner Diego Armando Maradona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Anthon Karlsson quite easily take care of the ball. Ramiro Quintanilha might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anthon Karlsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ramiro Quintanilha ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Quintanilha in the 29th minute of play forced Galapagos Islands FC's goalkeeper Anthon Karlsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Radomil Mroczynski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Shilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 33 minutes of play, Galapagos Islands FC's Niklas Möller made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Peter Shilton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramiro Quintanilhas short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Anthon Karlsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Özgün Hatip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Shilton having to interfere. When Zachary Fudalej fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Italiano's protests and gave Zachary Fudalej a yellow card for diving instead. Zachary Fudalej kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Per-Åke Åhlberg charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per-Åke Åhlberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Per-Åke Åhlberg hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute Özgün Hatip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Shilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Özgün Hatip took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Shilton. Peter Shilton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Galapagos Islands FC's Özgün Hatip got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anthon Karlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Armando Maradona in the 63rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramiro Quintanilha in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anthon Karlsson saved Galapagos Islands FC from getting behind. Radomil Mroczynski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Peter Shilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Zachary Fudalej. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Radomil Mroczynski took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Peter Shilton to make any attempt to save it. Diego Armando Maradona hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Radomil Mroczynski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Peter Shilton made a huge save. 89 minutes into the match, Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Özgün Hatip came free, but Peter Shilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galapagos Islands FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
